Outcome Monitoring

Outcome Monitoring

Outcome monitoring systems, often referred to as performance management systems or key performance indicators, are used to help managers and policymakers ensure programs achieve the expected results.  Effective monitoring systems track and report progress on key indicators, and provide useful information to help direct resources or attention on areas of concern.  They are also used to inform policy or budget decisions, mitigate risk, strengthen accountability, and help improve community health and wellbeing.  Data are often reported through dashboards or score cards and are reviewed regularly in team meetings.
